These air fryer frozen sausage patties are the perfect addition to any breakfast! They are ready in less than 10 minutes and are crispy and delicious!
I am a huge breakfast lover, when I say huge, I mean I can have breakfast for every meal of the day if it was offered. I love a big breakfast spread, eggs, toast, sausage you name it and I'm here for it! Breakfast seriously doesn't get any easier than these air fryer frozen sausage patties. They really round out the whole breakfast spread and are ready in less than 10 minutes. The best part is they are mess-free and there is no mixing required since they are already made.
There are also so many different options out there to choose from! You can choose those made with regular meat or they even have some stellar vegan options out there! I made the Impossible sausage for myself and the Jimmy Dean version for my meat-loving husband, I can tell you, this method works every time!
The Air Fryer that I use is the GoWise Air Fryer and I love it. I have had it for a few years and I use it all the time. It is easy to use and easy to clean. For these sausage patties, you don’t need any oil at all. They still get perfectly crispy.

What Makes These Air Fryer Sausage Patties So Great?
- Easy Prep and Cleanup-One of the things that I love about the Air Fryer is the easy prep and cleanup! Since these are frozen, you just throw them in and cook! Then all you have to clean is the air fryer! It is perfect!
- Quick Breakfast Side- This is the perfect quick breakfast side! I make them alongside all my breakfast dishes! It helps to turn breakfast into a full meal!
- Less than 10 Minutes- These sausage patties will go from frozen to table in less than 10 minutes. Using the air fryer is also great because it doesn't occupy oven or stove space so you have plenty of room to finish your breakfast!
Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
- Frozen Sausage Patties-The only ingredient in this recipe is the frozen sausage patties! This recipe is so versatile and you can use any type of frozen sausage that you want. I have tried this with both vegan sausage for myself and meat sausage for my husband, it works across the board!
Instructions
Step 1: Place the frozen sausage patties in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are in an even layer. My air fryer can fit 8 at a time.
Secure the basket in the air fryer and set the temperature to 400 degrees and the time for 9 minutes.
Remove from the basket, and enjoy!
Variations
- Stovetop Method - Place the patties in a nonstick skillet over medium heat and cover. Cook for 10-12 minutes until warmed through.
- Microwave Method - Place the patties on a microwave-safe plate and cover them with a paper towel. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes.
Recipe Serving Suggestions
These sausage patties go great as part of a bigger breakfast spread. Some of my favorite breakfast meals to serve with these sausages are:
- Vegan Biscuits and Gravy
- Southwestern Vegan Egg Bites
- Dairy-Free Southwest Frittata
- Vegan French Toast Casserole
- The Best Veggie Loaded Breakfast Casserole without Eggs
Storage
Store these sausage patties in an airtight container and place in the fridge. They will stay good for around 3 days. Just pull out of the fridge and reheat in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes or in the microwave.
I would not recommend freezing these sausage patties as they have already been frozen. They are best eaten right after cooking.
Top tips
- All air fryers cook differently. Cooking time may vary among different air fryers. If you're unsure of your specific air fryer's cooking time for these sausages, start checking for doneness after 9 minutes. If they are not brown and crisp yet, air fryer them for another 1-2 minutes.
- Make sure to put everything in one layer and do not stack the sausages or they will get soggy and not crisp up.
- There is no need to preheat your air fryer and you do not need to defrost your sausages, I recommend cooking them straight from frozen.
Recipe FAQ's
Cook the sausage patties for 9 minutes at 400 degrees in the air fryer to get the perfect brown and crisp sausage patties.
Nope! There is no need to add additional oil to the frozen sausage patties when you add them to the air fryer.
It depends on what you qualify as healthy. I like these because the air fryer uses less oil than the stovetop so it cuts a few calories, however, these are no healthy food by any means.
This depends on the type of air fryer you have and where you’re putting the foil. I personally do not add foil to my air fryer. If the foil is in a position where it can become loose, it may get sucked into the heating element when the air circulates.
