What Makes These Air Fryer Steak Fries The Best
- Easy and Quick Recipe- This recipe is so easy and quick to make! You literally are just throwing some frozen steak fries in and letting the air fryer do the work. All in 15 minutes!
- Healthier- Air frying uses so much less oil than deep frying and you still get that crispy, crunchy bite!
- Easy Clean Up-The other perk to this recipe is the easy clean up! I absolutely hate dealing with a deep fryer and having to clean up the oil. This recipe is as simple as washing and drying your air fryer after use!
Ingredient Notes
- Frozen Steak Fries- Any frozen steak fries will work! I normally just grab a bag from my local Sprouts or the brand from Ore Ida foods. Any fries will work! Make sure your bag is the right size. I have found that at 15 ounce bag seems to work perfectly, any larger and you risk crowding your air fryer.
- Salt- The salt is optional but if you are like me and love things super salty, go ahead and toss it in!
See the recipe card for the full ingredient list and quantities.
Instructions
- Place the frozen steak fries in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are in an even layer. My air fryer can fit a 15 ounce bag.
- Secure the basket in the air fryer and set the temperature to 400 degrees and the time for 7 minutes.
- When the timer goes off, remove the basket and toss the steak fries. Tossing the fries helps to give them an even cook the so fries on the bottom are able to get crispy.
- Cook an additional 8 minutes or until desired crispiness is achieved
- Remove from the basket, and enjoy!
Hint: Most frozen french fries contain some sort of vegetable oil so there is no need to brush or spray these fries with oil before adding to the air fryer.
Variations
- Spicy - Toss the Steak Fries in some Old Bay Seasoning halfway through air frying to give them the perfect kick!
- Loaded - After air frying, load up the fries with your favorite toppings! I love making chili cheese fries using vegan cheese and some canned vegan chili!
- Savory - Toss the Steak Fries in some chopped rosemary or thyme for a savory spin.

FAQ's
Yes! When making food for myself, I like to put my Beyond Burger in the air fryer on one side and then the steak fries on the other side of the air fryer and cook together.
If the air is not hot enough, or if you overcrowd the basket, your food will not come out crispy.
When working with frozen french fries, no you do not need to soak the fries before frying. If you are using fresh potatoes, soaking the fries will help to eliminate some of the starch and help them get crispy.
Equipment
Equipment can have a big impact on how a recipe turns out. See below for the equipment you will need to make this recipe.
- Air Fryer
- Serving Tongs
Storage
Store any leftover fries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat the fries, set the air fryer to 400 degrees, place the fries in a single layer and heat for 2-3 minutes or until reheated.
Since these fries have already been frozen once, I would not recommend re-freezing them.
Top tips
