What Makes These Air Fryer Frozen Vegetables The Best
- No Chopping Required- The best part about cooking these from frozen is that you don't need to chop anything! You just throw the bag in the air fryer and you are good to go!
- Ready in 10 Minutes-Could it get any quicker than this? If you made these in the oven, it would take at least 30 minutes.
- Perfect Budget Side- It only cost me $1.80 to make these frozen vegetables. Frozen vegetables are cheap and the perfect waste-free option.
Ingredient Notes
- Frozen Vegetables- I used a mixture of broccoli, carrots and cauliflower for this recipe. They are some of my favorite frozen veggies and they fry up nice and crisp.
- Olive Oil-You will need to toss these veggies in a bit of oil to get them to crisp up but it is very little oil and it still keeps them healthy.
- Seasonings-I used a mixture of salt, pepper and Italian seasoning for this recipe. Feel free to use whatever your favorite seasonings are.
See the recipe card for the full ingredient list and quantities.
Instructions
- Add the mixed vegetables to a bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
- Toss with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning
- Add the mixed vegetable to the air fryer. Make sure to add them in a single layer so they will cook evenly.
- Cook at 400 degrees for 10 minutes
Hint: To fully coat the mixed vegetables, add them to a bowl and drizzle the olive oil and herbs over top. Using a spatula, give it a good toss and it will coat them completely.
Substitutions
- Herbs - If you don't have bottled Italian seasoning on hand, feel free to use any herbs that you prefer. These are especially good when you have fresh herbs such as rosemary and thyme!
- Vegetables - Feel free to use any type of vegetables that you like, however I do find that this works best with bigger vegetables such as broccoli, carrots and cauliflower.
- Vegan Parmesan - Add some vegan Parmesan to the finished vegetables to really boost that savory, umami flavor.
Variations
- Spicy - If you want to add a bit of heat, add some red chili flakes in with the herbs.
- Balsamic - Finish these off with a drizzle of balsamic glaze to really elevate the dish!
- Potatoes - Toss in some fingerling potatoes with the vegetables to make this a heartier side dish!

FAQ's
Yes! It is one of my favorite ways to cook them! They come out so crispy and delicious!
I would recommend setting your air fryer to 400 degrees and frying for 10 minutes.
Air frying is healthier than frying in oil. It cuts calories by 70% to 80% and has a lot less fat. You still get the same crispy texture that you get with frying but it is much healthier.
Equipment
Equipment can have a big impact on how a recipe turns out. See below for the equipment you will need to make this recipe.
- Air Fryer
- Glass Mixing Bowl
- Spatula
Storage
You can save the leftover frozen vegetables in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. The air fryer frozen vegetables taste great either warm or cold so they will make for a delightful addition to meal prepped lunches or a simple veggie side right out of the fridge!
I wouldn't freeze these vegetables as they have already been frozen once and they would turn mushy when thawing. They are best eaten within 4 days of making them.
Top tips
- All air fryers are different. Make sure you know your air fryer, it may take less or more time to cook your vegetables depending on how your air fryer cooks. Check them at 10 minutes. The vegetables will be done when they are fork-tender and crispy.
- The size of the vegetables will also make a difference in cooking times. If you use large frozen vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower, they will take more time to cook than small vegetables such as peas.
- Make sure to lay the vegetables flat in an even layer. This will ensure that they are all cooked evenly. If you do have to overlap the vegetables, you will have to increase the cooking time and toss halfway through.
